Matt Means Earns Third CCAA Pitcher Of the Week Award

Click to see Matt Congratulations Matt Means, named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season. Matt is off to an outstanding 2008 for the Division II powerhouse Sonoma State Seawolves, with a 6-0 record in 9 starts, 44 strike outs, a 1.39 ERA, and an opposing batting average of .189 over 51.2 innings of work.

Erik Davis Drafted By the Texas Rangers

Congratulations Erik Davis, selected by the Texas Rangers in the 21st round of the 2007 Major League Baseball First-Year Play Draft. The draft capped off a spring season that saw Erik move into Stanford's starting rotation, finishing with a 4-2 record, limiting opponents to a .263 batting average, and striking out 42 batters in 51.0 innings of work over 18 appearances and six starts.
