Los Altos-Mountain View PONY Baseball

League Boundaries

LA-MV welcomes players from any city in our Regular Season and Club Teams.

Boundaries only become an issue for those players who want to retain their eligibility to play in PONY-sanctioned, post-season “All-Star” tournaments. The PONY Baseball national organization requires players in its tournaments to play regular season ball in the league where they live.

For players whose league age is 5 to 9 (Shetland, Pinto, and Mustang-1 Divisions):

  • Players from any city are free to play with LA-MV, without limitations. Our league does not participate in PONY-sanctioned tournaments at this age, so there is no issue with eligibility.

For players whose league age is 10 to 12 (Mustang-2 and Bronco Divisions) who want to retain eligibility for PONY-sanctioned tournaments:

  • Players living in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, or Palo Alto must register with LA-MV.
  • Players living in Sunnyvale must register with Lakewood PONY Baseball.
  • Players living in North Cupertino (Northwest of DeAnza Blvd/McClellan Rd) must register with LA-MV. This generally includes players who attend Montclaire and Garden Gate elementary schools.

For players whose league age is 13 or 14 (Pony Division) who want to retain eligibility for PONY-sanctioned tournaments:

  • Players living in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, or Palo Alto must register with LA-MV.
  • Players living in Sunnyvale may register with either LA-MV or Santa Clara PONY Baseball.
  • Players living in Cupertino must register with Campbell PONY Baseball.

For players whose league age is 15 or 16 (Colt Division) who want to retain eligibility for PONY-sanctioned tournaments:

  • Players may register with any PONY League in the same county where they reside. LA-MV is in Santa Clara County.

For players whose league age is 17 to 19 (Palomino Division) who want to retain eligibility for All Stars:

  • Players living in Northern California may register with any PONY League in Northern California.

If you have a question about your location might affect your players’s eligibility for PONY-sanctioned tournaments or other post-season “All Star” tournament play, email us at info@lamvpb.org.
