The Wall Of Honor
Over the history of the League, a number of our former players
have gone on to play at the collegiate level in baseball. The League
honors these players upon graduation from High School by making a
special presentation to them during the annual
Rosita Regional Tournament.
Each honored player is saluted for his accomplishments in
our League and during his High School baseball career. Each player is
feted on the
Skip Mueller Field
with a recitation of their
accomplishments and presented with a gift from the League to send them
off to college with the best wishes of the League. Finally, as a lasting
remembrance of their careers with LA-MV their names are added to the
“Wall of Honor” sign,
to be maintained in perpetuity by the League at
the Skip Mueller Field. In the 25 years of the League's operations, 23
players have been honored for their loyalty to the League and their
baseball accomplishments.
Eligibility for the award is determined by the LA-MV Historical Committee, which is comprised of the Leagues most senior baseball coaches. Each player is vetted based upon the following criteria:
- accomplishments within the League;
- longevity with LA-MV and loyalty and contribution to the League;
- accomplishments on the High School baseball circuit;
- a confirmed intention to play baseball at the college level; and
- general deportment and sportsmanship.
Congratulations to all of our honored Alumni!
