Our Coaches Clinics offer a unique opportunity for LA-MV PONY Baseball coaches to spend time with some of the best baseball teaching minds in the Bay Area. We highly encourage everyone who is head coaching, assistant coaching, or even just thinking about coaching to attend.

Coaches with sons who are hoping to play High School ball will find our new Intermediate and Advanced clinics particular valuable: get some face time and learn what's coming down the road from SFHS Head Coach Mike Oakland and his staff.

All our clinics are fully “hands on”: bring your glove, cleats, water bottle, and Advil. Reservations are not necessary, but we would greatly appreciate your RSVP to your Division Director to help us get a head count.

Beginning Coaches Clinic: Shetland and Pinto 1

The Shetland and Pinto-1 Coaches Clinic — a.k.a. the “George & Scott Show” — will be held Saturday, March 1, 10:30am to Noon at Bubb Field. This invaluably informative and highly entertaining coaching clinic is run by long time LA-MV coaches Scott Clarke and George Feliz. It is specifically designed to help coaches teach our younger players the fundamentals and fun of baseball. If you're a first time coach, you absolutely do not want to miss this! And even if you're old and jaded, you'll still want to come out for a great morning of fun and baseball wisdom.

Intermediate Coaches Clinic: Pinto-2 to Bronco

The Pinto-2, Mustang, and Bronco Coaches Clinic will be held Sunday, March 2, 10:00am to Noon at Saint Francis High School. This is a completely new clinic, taught by SFHS Varsity Head Coach Mike Oakland and his staff. The clinic will stress fundamentals: good drills for fielding, pitching, and hitting, along with a basic tutorial on signs and signals.

Bronco coaches are welcom to stay and attend the Advanced Coaches Clinic that immediately follows.

Advanced Coaches Clinic: Bronco to Palamino

The Bronco, Pony, Colt, and Palomino Coaches Clinic will be held Sunday, March 2, 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Saint Francis High School. This is a completely new clinic, taught by SFHS Varsity Head Coach Mike Oakland and his staff. The clinic will cover targeted drills, pitching, hitting, and more advanced signs like how to call pitches.

Scorekeeper Training

We are having our first ever Scorekeeper Training Wednesday March 19 at 7:00pm to 8:00pm at the Covington Library. This event is open to anyone interested in helping out our coaches by scoring games. All coaches are strongly recommended to encourage someone from their team to attend the clinic. Please bring a scorebook if you have one as this will be a hands-on workshop. We will have plenty of extra scoresheets on hand for those that don't have a book yet.

Scorekeeping is one of the most unique and oldest traditions of baseball. It is a great way to enjoy a game at any level!
