Equipment

Each coach is provided some standard game equipment, a rolling equipment bag and game balls for their teams at the beginning of each season. These items must be picked up and signed for at the designated times allotted to each division and returned in good condition at the seasons conclusion.

Standard equipment bags include the following:

  • Shetland: Game balls (safety soft level 1), 2 bats, 5 batting helmets (youth size), a hitting tee, rubber bases and a first aid kit.
  • Pinto 1 & 2: Game balls (safety soft level 5), 2 bats, catchers gear (helmet, shin guards and a chest protector, no s glove), 2 batting helmets (youth size) and a first aid kit
  • Mustang: Game balls (youth), catchers gear (helmet, shin guards, chest protector, and a s glove) 2 batting helmets (regular size) and a first aid kit
  • Bronco: Same as Mustang but with bigger s gear and s glove
  • Pony: Same as Bronco but with PONY official baseballs balls and a bigger s glove (30/32 size)
  • Colt & Palomino: Special bag with specialized helmets, high end high school level catcher's gear and professional league game balls

The league also sells a limited supply of extra game balls, practice balls, whiffle balls, scorebooks, and pitch counters at cost in order to ensure that the teams have everything they need to have a successful season. Left handed catchers gloves, knee savers, ice packs and other optional equipment is available upon request on a first come first serve basis and must be signed for and returned with the rest of the equipment at seasons end.

If you are interested in purchasing any of these supplies for your team please coordinate this with our equipment director at the time of your designated equipment pick. Only cash or checks made out to LAMV Pony baseball are accepted.

If equipment breaks in season, please let the equipment director or your division director know so it may be replaced in a timely fashion.

Coaches are responsible for cleaning all gear prior to returning equipment bags at the end of the season (allocated times per division are also assigned for equipment drop off). This helps the league continue to provide high quality equipment each year to its players, while keeping the maintenance and replacement costs down.

Many thanks in advance, have fun and play ball!!

If you have any questions, email the Equipment Director

Equipment Donations

The league also takes in used equipment, uniforms/hats, bats, pants, gloves, cleats, etc. and donates these items to charities in need or recycles them appropriately. Feel free to bring used items at your time of equipment pick up or arrange a drop off with the equipment director or your division director.

LA-MV Pony baseball has been working in recent years with Baseball Buddies whose mission to help under-privileged kids around the world to enjoy the game of baseball with proper gear. Baseball Buddies is now working with a larger organization, Baseball Without Borders.

In previous years, we've shipped equipment to Central American countries.
