About Los Altos-Mountain View Pony Baseball

Los Altos-Mountain View PONY Baseball (LA-MV) is one of the most successful youth sports programs in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are the largest and most comprehensive baseball program in Northern California (from the California/Oregon border to Bakersfield).

Our registration grew to an all-time high of over 1,100 players in 2005 and we have consistently provided a great baseball program for nearly 1,000 players a year since that benchmark year. Our post-season “All Star” teams continue to have success year after year and LAMV has hosted the West Zone Pony Division Regional Tournament for many years.

Our Palomino program continues to improve its competitiveness in what is widely regarded by baseball commentators as the toughest and most advanced Palomino inter-League in the country. This coming season, we expect to field two teams in each of the Colt and Palomino divisions (coached by local HS Coaches), thus providing a challenging league for high school players.

LA-MV PONY alumni have gone on to more successes in high school, college baseball, and professional baseball as well. In 2013 Erik Davis became the first LAMV alum to play in the majors when he was called up by the Washington Nationals.   Our Wall of Honor, which is located at Rosita Field, pays tribute the many fine players in LAMV that gone on to play college and professional baseball.

It is the philosophy of LA-MVPB that “Everyone Plays Real Baseball.” PONY Baseball (PONY = Protect Our Nation's Youth) provides for flexible rules that make sense for each age group. Base lengths are designed to target the physical maturity and safety requirements for each age group and the rules of baseball are introduced in incremental steps.

It is our goal to teach our children the game of real baseball beginning with the fundamentals, and to pass on to our children our love of the Great American Pastime. Our league is committed to balanced teams and fair play. We provide a clean, supportive, and competitive atmosphere on well-maintained fields, and our league's coaches are trained and instructed that the kids come first.

LA-MVPB has implemented one of the most comprehensive training programs in the South Bay. We expect our coaches, players, and fans to adhere to our Code of Conduct at all times. We are committed volunteers and recognize the hard work that goes into a quality youth sports program.

We're happy to answer any questions you may have. Read about our age specific divisions. Check out the history of PONY Baseball in America or look up some of the more than 800 major league players who are alumni of PONY Baseball. Go to the Directors page and find out who we are. Email us your question or just ask a friend who's already in LA-MVPB — we're confident that they'll highly recommend us.

We look forward to seeing you in an upcoming season.
